"They are rigorous, they’re about making sure our labs, personnel, and test methods conform, that they’re in compliance. They’re independent, not driven by a vendor or a construction company.”

March 28-31, 2022 - Minneapolis, MN

2022TechExLogo

The AASHTO re:source Technical Exchange brings together laboratory managers, quality managers, supervisors and technicians to learn more about quality and testing in the construction materials testing industry.

During this unique event, our fifth Technical Exchange, attendees had numerous opportunities to network with and learn from subject matter experts, AASHTO re:source staff, and their peers. Over 150 people attended the 2022 event, held in-person in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. The program offered over 30 different sessions, from returning favorites (thermometry, internal audits, management reviews, and Laboratory Manager 101, among others) to brand new topics (geotechnical testing of soils, asphalt volumetrics, sampling aggregates, Laboratory Manager 201, Quality Manager panel, etc.)

Here's what attendees have said about this event:
  • "I really enjoyed the opportunities to hear the perspectives of other agencies as well as private industry members and how they deal with quality and management issues. We had adequate space and time to hang out and discuss common issues that pop up in the work that we do. The informal gathering times were really helpful for this. I was also able to meet some people that I had talked to on the phone or e-mailed but had never met in person."
  • "The breakout sessions were great this year. A great deal of useful information."
  • "Everything was great! I thoroughly enjoyed the event."
  • "It was pretty cool to have breakout sessions with lab techs from around the country and discuss geographical differences. The relevance was on point with the work that we do every day."
