"They are rigorous, they’re about making sure our labs, personnel, and test methods conform, that they’re in compliance. They’re independent, not driven by a vendor or a construction company.”

Conformance to Policy on Publicizing AASHTO Accreditation

Dec 20, 2023

Starting January 2024, as part of the Annual Review process, the AASHTO Accreditation Program will carry out a review of every AASHTO Accredited laboratory’s website to verify that the language and logos used are in conformance with the AASHTO Accreditation Policy on Publicizing Accreditation.

Laboratories will be notified if a violation of the policy exists and will be expected to resolve the violation by the due date provided by the Quality Analyst.  Failure to resolve the violation in a timely manner may result in a suspension or revocation of accreditation.

Please take time to review the policy and your website, reports, and other promotional materials to ensure conformance to the policy.  If you have any questions, please reach out to your Quality Analyst, Amy Reed, or Brian Johnson.

More information on how the AASHTO Accreditation Program handles false claims of accreditation can be found on the AASHTO Accreditation Policy and Guidance on False Claims of Accreditation.
