"They are rigorous, they’re about making sure our labs, personnel, and test methods conform, that they’re in compliance. They’re independent, not driven by a vendor or a construction company.”

AASHTO re:source Website Update, Extended Deadlines, and FAQs

Apr 04, 2024

We are pleased to announce that after a challenging month-long battle involving a cyber incident impacting our web hosting company, NetVigour, our website is back up and running. We understand the frustration and inconvenience caused by the downtime, and we sincerely apologize for any disruptions it may have caused. Our team has worked tirelessly to restore our systems and implement enhanced security measures to safeguard against future attacks.

Please review the details below regarding accessing your account and relevant changes to AASHTO re:source programs.

Account Access

  • As a precaution, we have reset your password. We ask that you click the "Forgot Your Password?" link, which can be found when logging into the AASHTO re:source web site, to reset your password.
  • As a reminder, there is only one log-in per account. If you require assistance in updating your login email, please send email to info@aashtoresource.org with the name of your laboratory, city and state located and or account number and the new email address/username you are requesting.
  • At this time, NetVigour has not provided any information indicating that personal data was compromised as a result of the cybersecurity incident. However, in the event NetVigour does indicate that AASHTO personal information was compromised, we will ensure all impacted individuals are appropriately informed.

AASHTO Accreditation Program Updates

  • All relevant accreditation deadlines have been extended by 60 days.

Laboratory Assessment Program FAQs

The deadline I was given to submit my assessment request form was due while the website was down, what is my new deadline?

  • Pennsylvania – If your laboratory is located in Pennsylvania, and you were assigned a deadline of March 7 to submit your assessment request, the Senior Laboratory Assessment Coordinator, Jack Quinlan, will contact you individually regarding the submission process.
  • Illinois – The initial deadline was April 3. We are now extending that deadline by two weeks, making the new deadline for submitting an assessment request April 17.
  • Wisconsin – The original deadline of May 2 remains unchanged.

What if a previously requested test method was unintentionally omitted during the recent on-site assessment due to the website outage?

If, upon review, we discover that a standard (or standards) you had initially requested was unintentionally overlooked during your recent AASHTO re:source on-site assessment resulting from our website-related issues, we are extending an offer for a complimentary remote supplemental assessment within the next ninety (90) days for the omitted standards.

Please keep in mind that if you would like to include additional standards beyond those listed above, they will be subject to our standard remote assessment rate charges.

We will contact laboratories individually about this as we finalize assessment reports.

I had my assessment in March, when can I expect my final report?

LAP is prioritizing finalizing assessment reports, beginning with the oldest reports, and progressing forward. We are striving to complete all reports from assessments affected by the website outage no later than May 1. If you need your final report sooner than May 1, please reach out to the LAP Program Manager, Mike Wagner.

I am seeking accreditation, and I need an assessment as soon as possible, what is the timeline for scheduling my assessment?

Because of the increased workload associated with completing reports and other tasks relating to recovering from the website outage, we anticipate that the timeframe for scheduling out-of-sequence assessments will increase from eight weeks to approximately twelve weeks.

If you have any questions about out-of-sequence assessments, please reach out to the Senior Laboratory Assessment Coordinator, Jack Quinlan.
